Hi Everyone,

Cilantro (leafy coriander) is a powerful detoxifier, and because diabetic metabolism is inefficient (which produces more toxic metabolites), it is likely that this natural therapy will be beneficial for those with diabetes or pre-diabetes. It is also useful to anyone seeking better health.

In an article, Dr. David G. Williams, ND, tells us about cilantro’s unusual healing properties which go way beyond its use as a culinary delight. Researchers show us that herbs are complex plants which offer many medicinal benefits.  Herbs and herbalism have been humanity’s medicine for millenia.

In Japan, Dr. Omura, MD finally used cilantro in his research to successfully treat patients with eye infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis and later with Herpes simplex I and II and cytomegalovirus infected patients when traditional medications failed.

With the usual medical protocol, Dr. Omura found residual pools of virus hiding in areas of his patient’s bodies where residues of toxic metals were housed! Somehow these organisms used the toxic mercury, lead and aluminum wastes, so Dr. Omura vowed to find a way to detoxify these people from these dangerous metals and give the infection no place to hide.

The discovery of this “new” medicine to detoxify happened when Dr. Omura saw urinalysis results after a patient ate a Vietnamese soup which contained lots of cilantro.

So, when cilantro was used concurrently with other natural anti-virals or antibiotics (such as garlic and Omega-3 fatty acids – from cold-water fish, hempseed or flaxseed oils), Dr. Omura found the infections were eliminated for good, and the people successfully detoxified from their heavy metal poisoning, too. Most of these ingredients are pH alkaline which allows us to grab these acidic toxins and neutralize them, as well as transport them out.

By chance, Dr. Omura had re-discovered a very effective technique. Previously, heavy metals had been able to be chelated with EDTA, but this detoxification method was expensive. Whereas, cilantro is not expensive and detoxifies very effectively for many types of toxins.

To successfully treat yourself, have cilantro for 2 – 3 weeks, daily. The concentration Dr. Omura used in his research is reflected properly in the recipe which follows.



1   clove    garlic, peeled

1/2 cup   almonds, cashews or Brazil nuts or mix of them, chopped finely

1 cup       fresh organic cilantro leaves

2 T          organic lemon juice

6T           organic, cold-pressed: extra-virgin olive oil or hemp* or flax seed* oil

                 Celtic sea salt, to taste

Put the cilantro and oil in a blender and process until the cilantro is chopped. Add the rest of the ingredients and process to a lumpy paste. (You may need to add a splash of heated spring water to scrape down the sides of the blender jar.) You can change the amount of  oil and juice but leave the ratio of 3:1 the same.

This pesto freezes well, so put it into ice cube trays and take out what you need. You can make more than one batch at a time. Use this warmed to room temperature, as needed, as a tasty sauce to top sprouted-whole-grain noodles or brown rice or quinoa, garnish soups, spread on toast sections etc. And, remember to use fresh leafy cilantro in salads, garnishing Mexican food, veggie smoothies or green shakes etc.

Talk about job-related health hazards! In 2005, handsome, trim, 64 year old Herm Rowland, Sr., chairman of Jelly Belly Candy Company, announced that he has Type 2 diabetes. This points out the constant work-place danger for everyone, not just for diabetics or pre-diabetics. Often we get suckered into going along with the pack. Office snacks, get-togethers, as well as lunch-rooms, make you feel like you have to run the gauntlet — there’s little or no healthy food in sight.A constant stream of poor lifestyle and poor food choices (even if each is just a small portion), can mount up over days, weeks and years. All those sugary snacks can kill you slowly. Don’t you want another real, healthy option?

However, fake sugar and sugar-free is no better, and in fact has serious ramifications of its own. Studies recently have shown that those who use sugar-free sodas are at risk. They are often much more obese than those who do not drink sodas, and soda-drinkers also risk kidney disease, too.

So, the calories are not the whole story — biochemistry is. Sugar-free hits many of the same biochemical triggers that sugar does! Therefore, insulin keeps spiking. Also, the high acidity of sodas (phosphoric acid, mostly) can wreke kidney damage and imbalance our body’s vital pH values, pushing us into Acid Crisis Mode (ACM), packing on pounds to wall-off life-threatening amounts of acid into the life-saving, fat-moisturized adipose cells, engorging them into balloons as we “balloon” in size. Or, we begin “wasting away” when we have no more fat storage available and the acid starts attacking any and all body cells and systems, directly.

Yes, under these circumstances, your fat is saving your life and protecting precious tissues and organ systems from acidic destruction. So, please stay away from man-made sweets, as our body can only “buffer” these acids for a little while before we start losing the battle and dis-ease begins.

What’s a healthy option for the sweet cravings we all have? The best course is to let your palate return to its natural appreciation for fresh fruits. That’s Nature’s candy. It satisfies. Juices are not recommended; only whole fruits are OK. Juices leave out fiber and the many nutrients of those with edible skins and juices cause blood sugar spikes because of the lack of fiber.

Always, only eat fruit in its natural season and please pay the extra for Organic fruit, especially if you eat the skins. The healthiest fruits are:

  • tomatoes, olives and avocados — yes, they are fruits!
  • lemons, limes and grapefruits — which are alkaline in your body
  • watermelon
  • nectarines, peaches
  • persimmons
  • pineapples, mangoes, papayas
  • raspberries, loganberries, blackberry and blueberry (in that order)
  • grapes, currants, raisins
  • black cherries
  • apples
  • tangerines

Hello world!

Welcome to https://diabetesdietdialogue.wordpress.com . This is a continuation of a blog I started in 2005. I will give WordPress a try as I have heard wonderful things about this community, and I sincerely hope that I can make a difference in your lives, and that I will make friends here, too, to enrich my own life!

Here, I am preparing a critical, premier program for diabetics and for pre-diabetics, and I need your aid!

You will have the opportunity to help me target simple changes in approaching diabetic daily routine care — using some of the most cutting-edge thinking in the alternative medicine field today.

Please write and tell me what your most important questions or concerns are about your experience with diabetes. If you are a caregiver, then please highlight that fact, and then ask your questions or give your opinion, too.

I am especially interested in your view of the diabetes dietary plans which you might already have received and that you are now working with. What are they? What results? What problems?

I appreciate your input. With at least 41 million undiagnosed pre-diabetics and 6 million undiagnosed diabetics in America, alone, it is imperative that everyone be informed.
