“Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)
Times are tough. Many need your support, even though you may not be doing as well as you used to. Tough times — that’s when we really find out who we ARE. At Holiday Season, there are many ways to help with time, energy, money, good ideas for change to put into action and offering support and companionship. Diabetics are aware of life’s frailty, so we have the chance to be very empathetic towards others in need. That brings out at least one way to make diabetes a more positive experience. I encourage you to get involved in helping others. You do not need to be the Secret Millionaire, as in Fox.com’s new series on philanthropy, but each of us can give in many ways.
Please read the article I wrote about this last year, as these ways to help are still needed.
Christmas Last Minute Gift Giving Ideas – Meaningful Xmas Charity And Good Works For The New Year
Knowing you are helping someone WHILE you are giving a gift is also an amazing way to double-up the Goodness. I especially care about Fair Trade items for the most-needy villages and cultures overseas — for those who can’t easily compete in a global marketplace AND I care deeply about artists, anywhere.
So the links I am going to include this year will help you learn more about Fair Trade, link to places to buy Fair Trade Goods (you can find more by doing a search online) and learn where artists gather.
Artists always need your help. They bring so much to our lives, and it is meaningful and necessary to show that you care and support those whose only wish is to make our lives better. I encourage you to support hand-made gifts of any type or price, over manufactured goods.

The Artists Collective is just starting. It is for graphic artists and writers and artists in other mediums, too. You will find out more in the future at www.accessforartists.org, but for the moment, learn more at their funding source, at the non-profit site at: http://www.walkaboutjones.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=12
You can also consider entering the current writing competition at http://www.walkaboutjones.com/announcements/short-story-contest-1000-prize/ which hopes to offer Artists Grants, too. (You can also donate to the cause at WalkaboutJones — contact Dann directly). This is a great group. Please join! You are welcome, even if you are not an artist.
I’ll try to write earlier next week. Have a wonderful Holy Day experience. All of us in the world need to do our best to CO-EXIST, in Peace!
N.B. Hanukkah begins the evening of December 21st this year, and lasts for 8 days. Christmas and the many celebratory days after it are coming up fast, as is Kwanzaa on December 26th. Have a happy time.
Best to all — Em
