“Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)

I have been overwhelmed during my California trip and like others with diabetes, overwhelm has to be managed smartly. So, I’m late in posting, but am catching up using some important information on medications, conditions and suggestions for the problems described. These will be shorter articles.

1) Read the article at the New York times: New Group of Diabetes Drugs whereby the drug companies are seeking approval from the Federal Drug Administration (F.D.A.) for whole new types of diabetes drugs which sound like they have serious side-effects.

2) If you find your mind wandering (whether from low blood sugar, boredom or tiredness), then get out of that state quickly by watching photos of Nature for 7-10 minutes. There are lots of sites online which offer nature photos. This will not just help you focus (so you can take care of your low blood sugar, if that’s the cause), but also potentially lower your blood pressure and reduce stress hormones (which in turn, favorably affects insulin). Doing this will enhance attention and memory by about 20% say researchers at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Another choice to optimize focus and brain function: scientists published in Human & Experimental Toxicology that using the herb marjoram in a salad, dressing etc. is beneficial. Components in this mint-family herb prevent the break-down of the memory neurotransmitter acetylcholine.  This process may also offer protection against Alzheimer’s (senile dementia).  Add the herb to the cooler recipe below.

The herb sage also has some of the same qualities and is used by Native Americans to help brain function.

3) And, if you are feeling stressed-out, be sure to sprinkle some nutmeg onto your food. Researchers at Texas A&M University say that myristin induces you to relax by increasing your levels of the hormone serotonin. Just use a quick sprinkle. It would be even more beneficial in the evening with a glass of milk just before bed. More on helping diabetics sleep — next time.

WATERMELON SURPRISE

Use your blender and produce this energy-drink!

2C organic watermelon, diced (if you include the seeds, then strain)
1/2C organic mango, diced
1C coconut “water” / “juice” – chilled *
a few leaves of fresh marjoram – to taste
1/2C spring water ice cubes
Garnish: fresh mint, fresh pineapple *

Blend 30 secs on the appropriate speed for your mixer.
Garnish. Use 20 minutes before any other food. Melons are very alkaline and should never be eaten with other types of food.

Many of us need Vitamin B6 to cope with stress and keep healthy nerves. Watermelon is a good source, along with many phytonutrients and lycopene.

The coconut is a source of catalase which helps your liver flush out undigested protein molecules. If you want more fiber, actually add some organic shredded coconut to desired thickness.  Coconut is beneficial for diabetics and everyone else! (See my archived articles about coconut on the upper navigation bar Archive tab.)

The fresh pineapple helps to pre-digest this food and speeds it through with less work for your over-taxed liver.

Enjoy!

Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information” (TM)

Well, another week has gone by with continued uncertainty about how large a nuclear event will happen in Japan, how much area of Japan and the world will be contaminated, as well as to what degree. This whole scene should be making all of us think hard!

The best solution to the energy-crisis (and looming rising oil costs) is conservation! It can do more than anything else to help the planet and our fiscal stability – personally and nationally.

All of us need money for more important things in life — like supporting our Health. We have to make serious choices here.

An Japanese-American nuclear physicist, just returning from Japan, was interviewed locally last night. He said that what happened imminently was going to determine the extent of the disaster, now that they have determined nuclear reactor 3 has been “breached” and serious radiation was beginning to escape.

He continued, that if, because of radiation hazard for the firemen and reactor workers, they have to stop dousing the other two at-risk reactors, and thereby they melted-down too, this would be a “much bigger catastrophe than Ukraine’s Chernobyl” (which has a dead-zone around it which will last for at least a couple of centuries).

The location of these 3 plants and the wider circle of contamination  will effectively impact Japan and Honshu Island to a huge degree, really pushing already strained population centers to the max. It would mean  removing a huge contaminated area, which threatens to bi-sect the island and make each half disconnected.

Already the economic impact is tremendous, with parts and supplies needed for already-exported goods not being able to be manufactured. The crisis will mean jobs lost or furloughed all over the world.

That’s bad enough, but now back to Health. Unfortunately, as I suspected, the longer the radiation was spewing, the more likely that even the ocean would be effected. I don’t know how far and how deep the samples were taken but news this week said “seawater” was showing radiation, as was land water, milk, spinach, potatoes, and some root crops (!), like turnips.  All still at “non-problematical levels”, but if the situation goes awry, as described above, all bets are off.

It’s a shame, as Japan’s industrial rise was based on a land which had NO ready-to-go natural energy resources of its own. I wish that over these last few decades, they would have immediately researched wind (which the Americans did and then turned the technology and industry over to the Japanese to manufacture), geo-thermal and wave-action technologies (their best source, but least-researched) and solar (which is less useful to them, as they are a far-north country), but all would help.

The Japanese government went against their people’s traditional Shinto respect for Nature in choosing nuclear power and it has come back to bite them with a vengeance.

The shame is shared by America. It turns out that General Electric (GE) manufactured this “cheap” version of a nuclear reactor. The global corporations are wreking their havoc again. I do not know to whom else they sold this crappy reactor, which is doing just what critics were concerned it would do. But, in reports online,  I did read that there are at least 23 of the same GE nuclear reactors in nuclear power stations in the United States! Some are even on earthquake faults here.

So, everyone, you may have one of these monsters on your doorstep. I suggest you find out, and while you’re at it, start campaigning to get it decommissioned, like we did (decades ago) to the one plant that our power company (built against our wishes), on the Columbia River, in Oregon. We know we are as safe and responsible as we can be, now. Can you say the same? Yes, it took a long public campaign and a short time to vote and then goosing the utility and the government to do what The People wanted. All the more reason for you to start now.

Oregon then followed through on energy conservation and research. We have wind-farms, wave-technology starting on the Oregon coast, bike lanes and public-use bikes in major cities, new, efficient forms of public transportation reaching as deeply as possible into suburban neighborhoods etc. Support for sharing cars. We have revised codes and building standards. We are intent on Green.

This allows all of us in Oregon to have the 2nd forward-most thinking and action on Healthcare.

Until last Thursday, I would have said First. But, to their credit, the Legislature in Vermont wrote and passed historic legislation to get private, for-profit health “insurance” companies and “health-plans” out of Vermont!

In the next couple of years, a plan being crafted now, will bring to Vermonters the nation’s first universal health-coverage! Bravo! Brava! It will be a single-payer system. And it will be drafted in co-ordination with physicians, so the emphasis will be Health and not admin or drug company lobbying.

Vermont is another Green-thinking state, not wildly spending our grand-children’s future.

Oregon and Vermont have a lot to teach the rest of the nation and you need to make your so-called “representatives” take a serious look. Instead of supporting the new campaign for nuclear power to rise again in  America, quash it! Stop it now and forever. Otherwise, people will be dealing with lots more than diabetes, as fallout, sooner or later.

Health and social services, as well as public-safety,  have to be the first concerns of any government, and we cannot have this when we are mired in poor decisions and falsely-helpful technology raping us in other areas of life.

Aussies and others have had successful experiments with cars run on water cells etc., there’s SO much alternative energy research to do to help the planet and ourselves. We need to support that research and not let researchers be harassed (and worse) by goons from big-Oil.

Now, as promised last week, I’ll share why Dr. Robert Jay Rowen, MD cautions about the media’s use of potassium iodide as an effective help for this potential crisis of radiation poisoning, for the following reasons.

There’s been a massive run on potassium iodide, and regular store shelf supplies in some West Coast cities is sold-out. “Experts” are telling people that this combination will protect them from nuclear fallout, but Dr. Rowen says “They’re wrong!”.

He says that potassium iodide is a good product, but that the potassium is supposed to protect you from the radioactive cesium molecules. And the iodide protects against radioactive iodine isotopes.

But, here’s the problem:
___   First, in his opinion, there’s not nearly enough potassium in this combination to protect you against the radioactive cesium. (In your body, cesium acts like potassium. So the theory is that if you have enough potassium in your body, that is supposed to prevent your body from absorbing the cesium.)

But Dr. Rowen believes that most people are so deficient in potassium, that the small amount in potassium iodide won’t protect you. Instead, he says that you need to take a separate potassium supplement to protect yourself.

___   Second, Dr. Rowen says that you have to protect a lot more than your thyroid from radiation. The iodide in potassium iodide will protect your thyroid, but it won’t be as efficient at protecting your breasts and other organs.

Iodide and iodine — each serves slightly different roles in your body, and they each protect different organs, in different ways.

Yes,  iodide is only one form of iodine. In the event of nuclear fallout, it’s vital you protect your body with both nutrients, and potassium iodide doesn’t provide iodine.

Iodine is essential for your thyroid, and this gland needs it most — this is especially true for children’s thyroid glands, as they are growing and have faster metabolisms, so radioactive iodine will damage their gland much more.

If you’re deficient in Iodine, as most Americans are, your thyroid will pick up any iodine your body ingests (we’ve talked about this danger before). This includes grabbing radioactive iodine isotopes, which can then poison your thyroid.

But, Dr. Rowen says, if your thyroid is sufficiently full of iodine, your gland will ignore any other iodine passing by — including radioactive iodine.

There are two products that provide ample amounts of both iodide and iodine, in addition to food sources.

___ Dr. Guy Abraham, MD’s landmark product, Iodoral, is the first. Dr. Rowan says ” I think most people should take one capsule daily, just for general nutritional purposes. I do. After a few weeks, your thyroid should be sufficient in iodine and iodide, making your organs more resistant to radioactive iodine.” Iodoral is a pill and tasteless, whereas that cannot be said for the next choice.

___  A good (but foul-tasting)  alternative is Lugol’s solution. This should be available from your pharmacist. Explain what you need it for so you get the correct version.  This is a centuries-old formula, from a Frensh pharmacist, for this lack-of-iodine problem, which used to be rampant in Europe plagued with goiter.

In a way, it is the liquid form of Iodoral. Two drops of this Lugol’s Solution – an iodine/iodide product —  is equivalent to one Iodoral tablet. Dr. Rowen says: “If you know there’s a significant risk of radioactive iodine exposure, you can double or triple the Lugol dose in the short run.”

___   Finally, Dr. Rowen also mentions that potassium iodide cannot protect you against the radioactive heavy metals — like uranium and plutonium! This is the greatest hazard!

Uranium atoms seem to be too large for conventional chelators to grab, so he recommends Metal Magnet.

It is a totally natural supplement from decayed organic matter, which contains active humic and fulvic acids. These are complex large organic molecules which are structured with lots of carboxylic acid chemical groups (which attract metals like a magnet). All size  metal molecules will fit in, even the big-boys like uranium. Find Metal Magnet on the Internet.

___   Strontium 90, which a also radioactive mineral, and has been found in American dairy in the past; it is a more difficult issue, as it is chemically similar to calcium,  so it can enter and stay in your bones — potentially causing bone cancer.

The  EDTA protocol can chelate calcium, so it should also grab strontium, and studies suggest it does. Dr. Rowen says: “For strontium 90, consider both oral and rectal EDTA, which may offer limited protection. If you are exposed to radiation, I’d go directly to intravenous EDTA under the care of a trained chelation doctor.”

___   And, as general, everyday protection:

He also recommend taking Chlorella (15 tablets daily!). This algae  is an excellent metal detoxifier and it is definitely a superfood; get it in juice form, too, in smaller quantities tho’,  in many of the “green” juices. Read the labels.

When the Ukrainian nuclear plant at Chernobyl melted down, Russian researchers found brown seaweed (alginate) greatly reduced radiation poisoning. Dr. Rowan suggests  Modifilan and  Pectasol Chelation Complex (same as Dr. Fuchs) as both products are rich in alginates. OR, as I have said many times — start using kelp in your diet. Read my archive.

Advanced Detox Formula has a long track-record helping cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. The formulation greatly reduces the amount of radiation their body absorbs, so it will work for environmental exposure, too.

This protects you with its sulfur-bearing detoxification nutrients, which also help regenerate your greatest body-made anti-oxidant, glutathione. I suggest some sulfur-rich foods below. Dr. Rowan says to be  sure to take ADF along with supplemental vitamin C (2-8 grams daily ! Whoah!) and vitamin E (1,200 IU daily) when exposed to radiation. He suggests  vitamin E as Unique E, Carlson’s E, and Delta-Fraction Tocotrienols (take one softgel, twice a day).

I don’t know about you, but I have trouble after 500 mg of Vitamin C. I’d be in the bathroom all the time, but maybe if exposed to massive radiation, one can tolerate that much Vitamin C as your body would be using it up at a furious rate! So, I hope all this helps our Japanese friends, and any who are exposed in future nuclear events.

As usual, you can order King Chlorella, Pectasol Chelation Complex, Advanced Detox Formula and Delta-Fraction Tocotrienols from http://www.AdvancedBionutritionals.com .

___   Dr. Rowen, MD is a kindred spirit, as he, too, brings us back around to letting Food Be Your Medicine and savior. Remember, that everyday use of  certain foods can protect you — especially if you are eating as many raw, Living Plant Foods (LPF) as possible.

Plants have to survive constant assault from solar radiation. So, their plant chemicals  can help protect you as well. The Japanese use many of these products just naturally, and especially after the atomic bombs were dropped on them during WW2.

Generally, the Japanese diet is the healthiest in the world; their people are the most long-lived and if anyone can survive this catastrophe, the Japanese can, given half-a-chance as they already have all these good habits in place.

Their research has shown that for general radiation exposure, whether nuclear, or even medical gamma ray exposure, that Japanese fermented soybean paste ( miso) can protect you. Many studies confirm the efficacy of fermented soy, but it is salty, so a tablespoon is a lot to use at one time. Miso soup is a good choice. The recipe from Jim Healthy I published last time is at a level you can use through the day.

As an aside, Dr. Rowen tells  of a hospital right under ground zero in Japan, which survived the bombing. It was spared the destruction of the blast (which went outward more than downward). One of the doctors walked outside after the bomb dropped, saw the total destruction, walked back inside and told everyone to start eating miso. Those who did were spared radiation sickness, even at ground zero!

Organic soy bean miso is easy to find in the refrigerator case of good health stores. Read the labels, as some miso is also made from barley, and I do NOT know if it would have the same protective properties.

Tofu is NOT fermented. It does NOT count, and I would think the same is true of the whole soybean (edamame), as it is the fermentation process which releases other compounds in the soybean. Eat edamame for other healthy purposes. And, do NOT cook miso! Just add it at the end of the cooking process; just swirl it into the dish.

Start to eat seaweeds, sprouts, miso and radishes, onions and garlic everyday.

As a start: try Tofu – Seaweed Burgers Note: this makes 10-12 burgers. Experiment to see if they freeze well OR just reduce the recipe. Hijiki is a robust seaweed with lots of texture. You can also substitute nori seaweed without soaking or use several tablespoons of kelp sprinkles. Each of the potatoes (use the skin, too), seaweed and miso are very pH alkaline foods, That’s GOOD.

OK, we’re done, but find out if there’s a nuclear power plant near you and start to get it decommissioned like we did in Oregon; start to learn more about energy conservation; start to be proactive for getting the federal government to set aside research money to be spent on alternative energy; let your representatives know that you do NOT support expansion of the nuclear industry.

“Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)

This is a momentous edition. We begin the 4th year of serving diabetics and letting them learn alternative ways to help themselves with their diabetes — to see improvement, remission or cure.

I’m also going to introduce an important therapy this time.

Today also marks the 51st anniversary since my father brought us back to America, the land of his birth, and I often wonder if we would have had a healthier life if we had remained in Australia, where my sisters and I were born. I’ve seen massive changes in health in both places in the past 5 decades.

Unfortunately, only recently, Australia has joined the ranks of nations-in-trouble as its populace is generally over-weight and unhealthy, too. All the more reason to learn this landmark therapy!

In the same 5 decades, Dr. Brice E. Vickery, DC has been a caring, pro-active, observant physician who has put a vital piece of the Health puzzle together!

What Dr. Vickery has found confirms the accuracy of the foundation of Ayurveda, humanity’s first medical system, established in India 5,000 years ago — death and life begin in the colon — and that excellent digestion is the basis of Health.

In a world rampant with prescriptions of antacids of all kinds, this imbalance of digestive factors is a disaster. Usually, instead of excess acid, the symptoms of bloating, gas, burping etc., are really indicative of a stomach and digestive system which is under-served. It actually needs the ability to make MORE hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes and bile etc., to have proper digestion.

Without well-functioning digestion, protein components, especially, are not broken down properly into their individual amino acids.

Your body needs individual amino acids to build EVERYTHING!

These are called Free Amino Acids (F.A.A. – FAA).

Not only do most of us not have the critical FAA cellular building-blocks we need every second, but if whole or partly-digested proteins pass through the crypts in the intestinal wall, then our immune system reacts and food “sensitivities” or full-blown “food allergy” is born.

And, along with that, it means NONE of that improperly digested protein can be used by your body!

That issue also creates a “toxic load” as your body can’t use it, but must store it — the start of obesity —  and reflective of your overworked liver.

Dr. Vickery noticed many of his patients, with chronic conditions, like:

___   diabetes // hypoglycemia

___   fibromyalgia

___   chronic fatigue syndrome

___   Parkinson’s disease

___   GERD (gastro-intestinal esophageal reflux disease)

___   autism

___   celiac disease and Crohn’s disease

did well when he gave them a certain set of pharmaceutical-grade FAAs, using a patented  formula he invented and refined for decades.

Just any-old-formula won’t do, and the SOURCE and FORM of the FAAs is critical too. His formula also has other vital nutrients likely to be needed when your body is so depleted that its biochemistry is incredibly awry.

Why is protein important?

Even though many of us think we are succeeding in eating decently, did you know 9 out of 10 people lack the proper amount of protein in their organ systems for their bodies to function properly?

That’s amazing!

And, contrary to popular belief, a sufficient intake of protein in the diet does not automatically insure that your body is getting what it needs, because of improper digestion – both with hydrochloric acid in the stomach and with vital alkaline enzymatic buffers from your overwhelmed pancreas.

With excellent digestion, your body can manufacture thousands of systemic proteins which build and keep your body intact.  Without that ability, you’ll wither.

Protein is distributed throughout your body, providing:  structure, function, and organization of body systems. It is the foundation of your skin, nails and hair, and your blood, lymph and plasma. It is protein which  enables your muscles to contract and provides critical integrity to intestinal walls, so they can absorb the nutrients you need.

A bombed-out, caustic colon cannot absorb your nutrients properly and this is especially true in Crohns disease and also in celiac disease (where gluten allergy corrodes!).

Various internally-made proteins fight infection in your body and repair any tissue damage.  Your bone, lung and brain cells, and thousands of enzymes (that run the biochemical reactions to digest your food, repair damaged DNA and regulate all chemical reactions in your body) need protein for their structure and function.

Proteins help to carry oxygen to your cells! Other proteins remove toxins from the liver – which cleanses your whole body. The digested levels of protein vitally determine if your body makes 95% of all your hormones as well as whether there will be sufficient specialized proteins carrying hormones, vitamins, fatty acids and minerals to your cells.

When we talk about protein we are talking about your whole life-system itself. When we properly assimilate protein into our body-system daily, we are keeping the entire system intact, and it is catastrophic if we are lacking in vital amino-acids.

FAAs are the building blocks of thousands of proteins and enzymes, without which we cannot have Health.

Our body tries mightily to adapt if we are low on certain vital amino acids due to improper food choice and / or incomplete digestion. It will re-route and try other chemical pathways with up to 500 detours, but even then it is beaten, without success, oftentimes.

Protein is not stable, and it is constantly being used up and exchanged for new protein daily in a process called “protein turnover“.  About one pound of protein a day is lost in this process, so it needs to be replenished from your diet on a daily basis.

Here are some examples of turnover times for some of the most vital body proteins:

___   enzymes- 7-10 minutes

___    insulin- 30 minutes

___    liver protein- 10 days

___    muscle protein- 60 days.

In 1 year all the protein in our body has “turned over”, in good balance, or not.

Animal and vegetarian sources of protein provide the critical nitrogen element essential to your biochemistry.

There are 20 amino acids and at least 10- 12 of them are considered “essential” (most of these are critical life-long and some are “essential” only at critical times of development) because your body must get them everyday in food as you cannot manufacture them.

Nothing but protein sources can supply protein.

The carbohydrates and fats we eat are not part of the process, although they are also vital — especially the “good fats”, the Essential Fatty Acids from flax, hemp, borage or fish oils, and adequate vitamins and minerals — for proper biochemistry. Seaweed is a great source for the minerals, especially much-needed Iodine, as I have advocated for a long time.

And, to be digested properly, fats and carbohydrates need proper levels and types of proteins to make complete digestion happen.

EFAs must be carried to your cells by proteins and then absorbed there for your cellular energy to be produced!

And, diabetes prevents the conversion of EFAs to vital GLA and EPA — so diabetics need supplements for these vital fats, as well as proper digestion and transport proteins. Angstrom-sized, chelated zinc, magnesium and sulfur along with B vitamins and vitamin C are also necessary for proper conversion.  The minerals require proper types and levels of protein to be transported to your cells (that is, minerals must be chelated — on a label, that means it ending in —ate, for example the best form of magnesium is magnesium citrate).

Dr. Vickery says: “Adrenal fatigue, nutrient deficiencies and yeast metabolites all affect blood sugar and there is much information available about how the diet can be controlled in order to help a badly unbalanced secretory system regulate the blood sugars. What is not well known is the important role of protein in this whole system. Three things are core essentials for proper blood sugar regulation: a healthy nervous system, a healthy secretory system and properly functioning proteins dealing with sugar uptake and release from the cells.”

The blood detoxification process in your liver is an amazing two-phase operation in which the blood is filtered and toxins are broken down and prepared for removal from the body. This is known separately as the Phase I and Phase II detoxification pathway.

In a single minute of time, a healthy liver filters and detoxifies 99% of the waste material from two quarts of blood!

But, because the enzyme pathways of a sick or damaged liver will be unable to effectively break down and clear the body of this needed amount, toxins so poisonous material will end up in the blood again and then be  stored in body tissues (creating malfunctioning organs and obesity).

I hope you can see how important the complete digestion of adequate protein is!

So, if you are already ill with one or more of the imbalances (“dis-eases”) above, then you already know that this protein system is broken in your body. Pouring more (expensive) protein is not going to help and without great digestion, your supplement money is likely not benefiting you as it should, either.

The ONLY way known out of this vicious biochemical swamp is to have the full benefit of predigested, top-notch, single amino acids in the correct form and balance of FAAs. Dr. Vickery’s Platinum Plus Formula provides this, along with the needed companion vitamins and minerals.

Don’t go to the health store for FAAs. They won’t be sourced properly, sized-properly and won’t give you the benefit that Dr. Vickery’s patented formula will do. Period.

You can learn a great deal more on Dr. Vickery’s own site, where you can also purchase his products.

Spend time at http://www.supernutrient.com in the Science section, if you feel comfortable, otherwise surf the site to understand as much as you can to feel confident and especially read the Hypoglycemia page

Dr. Vickery says that the status of your spinal disks is a lesser known source of blood sugar problems, as compaction causes autonomic nervous system aberrations which result in poor blood-sugar sensing capabilities.  Glucose sensing neurons in the autonomic nervous system, are also involved in pancreatic and adrenal secretions.

He adds:

“There is also a certain protein, AMPK, that researchers suspect may also be an important part of the body’s blood sugar metabolism regulation. The AMPK apparently senses low levels of energy molecules(ATP) within the cells and activates processes such as glucose manufacture by the liver and cellular glucose uptake by glucose transporter proteins (GLUT4) within the cell.

An AMPK related protein is an enzyme made up of a total of 661 amino acids, 325 of which are the essential amino acids (those that can only be gotten from the diet). Studies also show that amino acids enhance the activation of AMPK.”

DO discuss this all with your physician, too.

Some diabetics, with severe kidney disease, especially need an expert to help them with this therapy.

“Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)

I cannot express the grief I feel about the senseless carnage which took the life of this gracious, bright and loving child in Tuscon, Arizona last week. I will miss you, Christina Taylor Green, and mourn all the good you could have contributed to the world, if given the chance.

A few days ago, your Spirit returned to Source from whence you came; today, your Earth Mother holds you close. Now safe. Rest. Your job is done. Now, it’s our turn.

As I am trained in Psychology and Education, I continually read the articles about how the mentally-ill and mentally-vulnerable are not being attended to (starting in the ’80s with Reagan), and without a caring and effective life-line, this young man’s poor choices can be the senseless result.

Tonight, CBS News anchor, Katie Couric, reports that 30% of Americans have some form of mental illness, 5% of them with severe cases. I think a lot of this is from decades of casual drug use among many Americans – parents (drug use before, during and after – affecting genetics and parenting skills), sometime-to-be parents and kids.  And the other major source: decades of poor nutritional choices among even more people with jeopardized or broken genetics and / or biochemical imbalance as a result. And, for some, it is poverty which causes poor nutrition, but it can have the same results.

In this incident, so many lives needlessly lost, and mostly because the talking heads – official and otherwise – have raised the level of disrespect and unsupported rhetoric SO high.

They had better be reversing this in the halls of Congress, the halls of FOX News, radio chat shows and in the churches and organizations of hate and vitriol.

Let’s see statesmanship, civil and honest discourse which attempts to find common ground and compromise; let’s aim for a centrist agenda. All that counts is the Good of the Nation, not corporations, special interests, power-mongers. It needs to be central and all that is attended to. Get to The People’s Business, only.

And, healthcare reform needs to be settled, fairly, now!

For, without access to preventative care (and at a fair fee which people can afford), the nation cannot have a citizenry with a healthy, trim and  vigorous body,  and with a mentally-stable, well-nourished mind. This nation’s destiny is at-risk in ever-increasing increments, from within and outside our borders, and we are turning into weaklings.

Whether it be the drug-cartel violence at the Mexican border and the havoc their product produces in our vulnerable young people, while society is ineffectually fighting it OR whether it’s China with their aggressive, ready, million-man army (and it’s successful recent missile tests), the world is very scary at the moment.

We can reverse ALL this if we work together and don’t disengage.

Each of us has to become an instrument of positive change, like Gabe Zimmerman and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords were trying to be, and like the interested, involved citizens, who attended her Meet “N’Greet “Congress on your Corner”.

Our prayers are with all the families.

As balm for Christina’s family, John and Roxanna Green, their 11 year old son Dallas and extended family, as well as for the others personally touched by the larger tragedy, we pledge this as a time for reflection.

Figure out what you can do to make the world around you a better place.

Start small and keep working. No endeavor is insignificant. Just start. And, hold your elected officials’ feet-to-the-fire. Pay attention to what they are and what they are not doing on your behalf and the Nation’s behalf.

Things just can’t be business-as-usual because, for decades, the People’s Business has NOT been done!

Listen to and READ many sources. Get many points of view. Then, make your own opinion. Next, work to make your voice heard.

At the same time, settle on a set of steps as to how you can make your own and your family’s “lot” better if these officials act, and even more if they don’t act!

The American Dream is, at best, on hold. Whether we can speak of it in a hopeful Future, depends on us seeing the return of a vibrant, reasonable-size middle-class. THAT  will determine the fate of our country.

And, in turn, this time, the middle-class has to help those below them better than they did before.  And, all of us need laws to put the top 1% – 2% of the wealthy on notice, that the land and money and power grab is over.

Get Campaign Reform in place and that cuts off the power-mongering immediately!

When this Congress and this Executive can kowtow to special interest and pressure from the powerful to enact tax-cuts for the wealthy, giving away another 800 billion dollars of now uncollectable tax money from the wealthy, officials are left with unacceptable choices for making “cuts”.

Only trying to tear-down so-called “entitlements” for those who paid into these systems and now need them OR for the most-needy, least healthy of us who need the services is a heinous, unfair plan to be thinking of as the source of fiscal re-balancing.

And, for the military spending-cuts, their wisdom remains to be seen.

But, clearly, the wealthy 1%-2% are NOT paying their share and have undue influence while owning more than 50% of the wealth of this wealthiest nation in the world. And, no, the science shows that their wealth does NOT “trickle-down” nearly as much as it should. They actually don’t stimulate the economy with their money.

America needs to be better on all levels and I think her citizens must insist upon it and contribute their own actions to Positive Change.

So what, that Congress voted to extend the tax-cuts for the wealthy. Go back, re-visit the issue and re-craft the Law. That’s where huge change needs to begin.

And, the Federal government needs to make sure that the states don’t go under. The purse is too unbalanced in Federal favor. The states are the one’s best able to deliver what their citizenry needs, and several are destitute, or on the brink.

More than 30 states cut their mental health budgets, by a total of 2 billion dollars, and that’s part of why there is a lack of treatment options. It opens the chance for these tragic occurrences, and people have to be willing to alert authorities to those who are behaving irrationally, with a strict set of published criteria, so that the system is not abused.

Nothing is cast in stone, but when people are “hurting” as desperately as many people are, without acknowledgment that means anything concretely, then more trouble can happen.

So, let’s make sure we are walking in a better direction. It starts with each of us. Tell your Congress that you want the tax-cuts for the wealthy revisited and that you want real healthcare reform, with the public option as a central underpinning. Hop to it!

I received an email recently, and part of it said:

“They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.”

That’s how I feel about you, Christina. May your Light always shine in our hearts, and may we be worthy of that.

Best to all — Em

“Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)

I can’t believe that it’s Thanksgiving in one week and Hanukkah begins December 1. That has really caught me off-guard. I already have a husband who’s ill with some kind of influenza, it seems, and I am trying to get him on-the-mend. Everything is always in flux; now it’s even more so. What to do? How can diabetics weather the peaks and valleys and stresses of this spate of seasonal celebrations?

I do it by being organized, which is why it’s a little more scary this year. Another thing I do is trust to my experience, which I will definitely need this year. One more tip, is that I am always paying attention and gathering through the year. I never wait until just Holiday Time.

So, I took my husband to the clinic 2 days ago and will bring him back today.  Hopefully, the physician will see some progress, as we really want to avoid him getting pneumonia from the grungy, small cough that appeared 2 weeks ago, just after he got his flu shot.  It has just slowly progressed to show some lung changes on Wednesday’s  x-ray. So, yesterday, I made him a mighty healing soup.

I am including the recipe here, as I do not want you to get ill if you stress or obsess over the holidays. My soup recipe will help give your immune system the ammunition it needs to kick into high-gear.

My husband is not diabetic, but has other health issues which I have to be careful of, too, which share diabetics’ usual “concerns”.

As Hippocrates said, “Let Food Be Thy Medicine“. That’s a treatment your body knows how to use and you have to be knowledgeable these days or get counsel. I have been taught by family experience and my own use of Food As Cure has been for multiple decades. Now that I am without medical insurance, it’s even more critical knowledge.

One consistent place to find a tradition of using Food As Cure, is in the Chinese Culture. You will be able to find many recipes, some of which may have been used as food cures for thousands of years. I have many Chinese Food Cure books on my shelves, and hopefully you have some family traditions, too.

Many of the things called “old wives tales” in the past are being shown to have a solid basis when science catches up. The grandmothers and mothers of the past were the Healers, and they were good at observing what worked. Even what we think of now as “witchcraft” and “herbalism” were female scientific endeavors which males either didn’t understand or didn’t like handing over any Power to a woman. That’s true, let’s face it.

But, now, it is everyone’s responsibility to be a Healer — and that’s especially true when American medicine and much of western medicine is going in the wrong direction, becoming a spineless shill for Big Pharma. If you can find a more holistic physician, you are lucky.

I’ll be suspending my series about a few of the good doctors out there while we talk about the holidays, and I may resume the series sometime on the New Year. I will return to a couple of the first few physicians, too, Dr. Timothy Harlan, MD, especially, who is just starting to produce a TV series, so he may get wider exposure as “Dr. Gourmet”.

Pay attention to whom you get counsel from, but be proactive and DO learn what you need to know.

Now, on to today’s recipe.

===================================================================

Em’s Mighty Healing Soup

For 4 servings — in a large soup pot, combine:

1 1/2 cartons of free-range, organic chicken broth – about 1 1/2 quarts

1 medium sweet potato, scrubbed, peeled, diced in 1/2″ slices

1 medium Yukon Gold potato, scrubbed well with peel on, 1/2″ dice

3 large beet leaves and stems, shredded, then diced 1/2″ lengths

about 1/2t  each of dried: garlic powder*, turmeric, oregano, thyme

1/4 C Turkish red lentils, rinsed

1 large piece of kombu seaweed (Eden brand)

1 large piece of Nori seaweed, (Eden Brand)

Add these and bring to the boil, then immediately reduce heat and simmer for approximately 30 minutes.

Then add:

1/2 C well washed organic quinoa

(1)  20+ ounce can organic diced tomatoes (Muir Glen Brand^)

Cook another 10-15 minutes once the pot has returned to heat. You may have to turn it up to boil again and immediately return it then to a good simmer.

Because I kept the heat low for most of the time, I did not need to stand and stir the soup. In fact, I just kept an eye on it while I did more things in the kitchen.

At the end, place the following in a bowl:

about 1 t – 2t of organic extra-virgin olive oil (bowl size determines how much to use)

same amount of Organic, apple cider vinegar with the “mother” enzymes (Eden or Bragg’s or Spectrum Brand)

a tiny pinch of Celtic Sea Salt

splash of lemon juice

about 1/4t Kelp Granules (Maine Sea Vegetables Brand)

Pour in the desired amount of soup and enjoy!

=====================================================================

* I will be explaining why I use each ingredient, and I want to say that I will also be adding fresh garlic cloves next time, and I had wanted to add finely diced fresh onion as garnish, but had used my last one! Onions provide quercetin, an important factor.

If you take coumadin or warfarin or another blood thinner, then pay attention as seaweed will affect your numbers. Seaweed is Nature’s blood thinner. You will need less medicine if you use seaweed regularly. See my previous articles about Seaweed, and Iodine, in the Titles Archive, above.

Many of the ingredients that you can’t find in your local stores, especially if you live outside the United States, you can buy at the companies’ websites.

___ Free-range Organic Chicken Broth – is the best form of “Jewish penicillin”. Science has found many immune-stimulating or modulating substances in chicken soup — as Jewish Mamas have always known!

___   organic sweet potato – this is a very alkaline pH food which will help to “neutralize” some of the pH acidic tissues which is where pathogens hide. Viruses and bacteria require an acidic pH environment to live. If you remain pH alkaline, you are not a host. Sweet potatoes also have good fiber to try to help the gut keep moving even though you may not be physically active as much, if unwell. They are filled with pro-Vitamin A phytosterols which help your body to fight (and protect your eyes).

___   organic Yukon Gold Potato (or white potato) – again, another pH alkaline food, if eaten with the skin and there’s actually a fair amount of Vitamin C in them, too.

___   organic beet greens – these dark green leafies have lots of Vitamin B’s to help us handle stress, which being ill certainly is. They also have lots of Vitamin A which is being covered up by their dark color. I was also hoping that there’s still naturally-occurring nitrates in the leaves and stems, not just the beet bulb. Natural nitrates help to produce nitrous oxide, needed to dilate your vascular system which means more oxygen can be brought deeply into tissues. Oxygen is another “killer” of most pathogens – which tend to be anaerobic organisms. (Natural nitrates are very different as opposed to man-made ones in deli meats, which are cancer-causing.)

___   specific dry herbs: garlic, thyme, oregano and turmeric are all either antivirals, antibacterials or both.  Don’t underestimate the power of these plants. They’ve been used by herbalists for millennia because they work. Science is now just catching up. Fresh herbs are best, but you can use dried to lesser effect.

___   Turkish red lentils – these are acidic pH, as all beans are, in varying degrees, but I needed to add more protein to help tissues repair themselves in the battle with the pathogens, so the pH alkaline foods will help neutralize these beans, too. I chose these lentils because they cook very quickly, but true French green lentils have some remarkable qualities, due to the volcanic soil they are grown in, so I might consider using them, too.

___   organic seaweeds — I used kombu and nori – large leaf portions. They provide Iodine, an essential anti-viral and anti-bacterial and also the full range of minerals. The key here is to use a brand like Eden which is fastidious about the cleanliness and safety of the ocean water where these are harvested. Do not buy Chinese products.

___   organic quinoa — a high protein food to aid tissue renewal and it’s a very alkaline food to help raise pH to levels where pathogens cannot survive. It is also the original alkaline fast-food, as it cooks in about 10 minutes. Use it as a substitute for grains, all of which are pH acidic foods.

___   organic tomatoes — source of lycopene and lutein — important phytonutrients to help with immunity and eye health, and there’s some Vitamin C, but, again, that’s being lost when exposed to heating — so I try to keep the cooking temperature as low as possible and add the Vitamin C foods as late in the process as possible. ^ I use Muir Glen because it has an enameled interior to the can. Most companies use Bispenol A treated liners for canned food, especially tomatoes, which are sub-acidic fruits and can corrode the can. Bisphenol A is now banned in Canada and should be, everywhere. Children, especially, should not be exposed to Bisphenol A.

___   olive oil — source of important essential fatty acids and it’s a healthy food to help with joint pain and heart health — both of which are stressed when dealing with the flu. I prefer organic, but that can be hard to find. Make sure the oil is in a dark glass bottle, and buy a small size. Keep refrigerated or in a cool spot.

___   organic apple cider vinegar with the “mother of vinegar” enzymes — it leaves alkaline ash, so it is considered to bring alkalinity in your body. It is the only vinegar which does this. This vinegar is very good for diabetics and it it aids digestion, so the food value is more available with less work for the ill person

___   Celtic Sea Salt — supplies the full range of ocean minerals, and it is the only one which is assured to have been harvested in truly pristine ocean waters. Get it at Trader Joe’s or from the original preferred source – The Grain and Salt Society. Look them up in Asheville, NC.

___   splash of organic lemon juice – again, lemons may have citric acid, but they leave alkaline ash after metabolism is complete, so they are an alkalizer. Of course they are also a source of Vitamin C, but it is best not exposed to heat. You’re better off having a  real, organic lemon squeezed into pure spring water to drink before your soup or along side – sweeten with a little stevia.

___   kelp granules — more iodine in an easy to use anywhere, anytime format. Even though heat does not deactivate Iodine, I wanted some fresh, just at serving. Iodine is a potent pathogen killer.

Put some of my Mighty Healing Soup into a thermos to take to work if your co-workers are hacking and coughing. And, if you decide to take an Echinacea preparation, which IS effective (contrary to the “science” “reported” in the media where it is being “studied” for “off-label” uses), then be sure to take Echinacea for a maximum of 2 weeks on, then 2 weeks off. Your thymus has to rest and not be constantly stimulated. The traditional use adheres to that timetable and Russian research confirms that wisdom.

Well, I hope you stay well, and we’ll see if I get a post done next week — maybe on Friday. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)

Diabetics have only a little leeway for error and indulgence under the current regimens, and so for those following traditional diabetic diet advice, this diabetic diet information is crucial. Mainstream diabetic diets place too much emphasis on food groups, especially carbohydrates, without enough emphasis on individual foods and more in-depth nutrition.

Dr. Robert Rowen, MD has alerted diabetics for the need to protect their eyes from damage from computer screen radiation. In fact, this is a  nutrient all computer users must take to protect their eyes.

Most educated people, worldwide, spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen.  Have you ever thought about the visual effects of light coming from computer screens?  Now there’s reason to do so!

A new  Chinese study says computer light can damage your eyes. Fortunately, the study also found a common nutrient which can protect your eyes from the damage.

In the study, the researchers followed 37 healthy subjects, aged 22 to 30 years old. Like most of us, all of the participants had regular exposure to computer screens.

The researchers randomized the participants into three groups, and then, for 12 weeks, they gave Group One 6 mg of lutein daily. They gave Group Two 12 mg daily. And Group Three got no lutein; they took a placebo.

At the end of the study, Group Two had the best visual acuity. They had taken the most lutein supplement.

Additionally, both groups taking lutein had better contrast sensitivity. (This simply means they can distinguish objects clearly from the background. They don’t blur together.)

Dr. Rowen said this  is the first report he’d seen that suggests that a computer display light might have a negative effect on vision. I have read about other issues about monitor exposure in the past.

He says that he can’t make any conclusion at this point, as it’s hard to determine from this study if the computer screen did the damage — or if the lutein just improved their eyesight.

In his practice, he  knows from patients taking Advanced Vision Formula, (from Advanced Bionutritionals brand) a supplement he recommends, which contains a whopping 15 mg of lutein, that this nutrient does improve eyesight.

Regardless of whether the computer screen causes damage or lutein improves eyesight (or some combination of the two), this study indicates that anyone who uses a computer regularly needs to take lutein, and as diabetic eyes are at especially high risk, for all kinds of reasons, this is a prudent step.

Also, I will mention that the mineral chromium, which is important in regulating blood sugar levels, additionally helps the small muscles in the eyes, so that mineral which is usually low in Western diets, is one to talk to your doctor about. Take a normal dose of 200mcg (micrograms) of chromium GTF (Glucose Tolerance Fator) supplement and monitor your blood sugars closely, as you may need less diabetic medication after being on chromium. Keep up the chromium regularly once you start.

If you’re eating a colorful, varied vegetable-based diet, there’s likely little cause for concern, as you’ll get plenty of lutein naturally. But, if youare under extra stress, already have worsening eyesight or spend long-hours in front of a computer monitor, then please add lutein to your daily regimen.

Cooked tomatoes are an excellent source of lutein, but don’t have it with lots of pasta! You can drink low sodium tomato juice just as well or make it into a tasty gazpacho – a cold summer soup with Spanish heritage. Here’s my friend Meg’s recipe.

========================================================

Meg’s Summer Gazpacho

1 quart                    Organic Tomato Juice (use Knudsen), chilled

2                               Organic garlic cloves,  wash, peel and mince

1/2 to 1                  English cucumber, washed and diced small

1 handful               Organic, fresh cilantro – wash and chop finely

1/4 – 1/2               Organic red onion, washed, peeled, sliced thinly, then diced

dash                        Organic cayenne pepper

dash                        Organic, whole Celtic sea salt, if needed

dash                         Bragg’s Organic apple cider vinegar with enzymatic “mother”

optional                a sprinkle of organic dried seaweed like dulse or nori

Add the prepared vegetables, spices and dash of vinegar* to the cold juice and serve.

* organic apple cider vinegar with the “mother of vinegar” is important — Spectrum and Bragg’s are 2 brands which can qualify. Read labels carefully. Regular commercial vinegars, like Heinz, do NOT make an acceptable vinegar product. This specific vinegar is used because it becomes alkaline in the body and helps to “pH balance” the acidity of the tomatoes. The seaweed is also very alkaline, as is the cilantro. It is important to try to make most of your food alkaline.

“Everyone Knows Someone Who Needs This Information!” (TM)

Diabetics need to be very familiar with their bodies and its processes, and then they need great advice as to how to get things back into Balance! First your body speaks to you – as pain, stress, muscle tension, calm, relaxed happiness etc., and you pay attention for the good and bad signals.

Then, again, you act to maintain or regain Balance. If we had to take responsibility for listening and knowing and acting accordingly, I think all of the population would be healthier.

But, we are being taught that  blood-sugar meter numbers tell us everything and then we should pop-a-pill or shoot-up some prescribed amount of insulin, and the same is true for many other dis-eases.

Yet, all we become then is a walking bank-account for the uninformed medical industry and for pharmaceutical companies. In an extraordinary exposè of this ignorance or collusion, Dr. Julian Whitaker, MD quotes:

No oral diabetes drug has ever been shown to do anything really good for any patient. No leg, eye, kidney, heart or brain has been spared.” —Norton Hadler, MD, of the University of North Carolina, quoted in Business Week.

What else can you do to make better steps towards Health?

___   Know more about how your body works

___   Understand its messages

___   Be willing to use food as a tool for Health

___   Learn from physicians and nutritionists who successfully ameliorate or even cure diabetes.

That’s what this series is about.

___   Muscle metabolism is critical to understand. When I was in university, I took a Physiology course from the professor who was regarded as the best in the world in muscle research, then.

I couldn’t believe how much there was to understand about muscles. Realize that just about every organ has a sort of musculature, too, including your heart, of course, and that muscles really are the champions when it comes to keeping you metabolically stable — using up excess blood-sugar and helping it enter tissues better.

The little metabolic-furnaces inside each cell, mitochondria, are where your energy is burned to make you “go”! Research shows that diabetics tend to have fewer and smaller mitochondria. The only way to get more and better-functioning mitochondria is to build more muscle and well-functioning muscle tissue.

___   When you lose muscle mass, your body is giving you a B.I.M. – a Body Information Marker – by showing you that you are not getting enough food into active cells (as your muscles are “wasting”) and that you are not using your muscles enough to keep them strong and bulky. Fat surely follows.

If your skeletal muscles are in good-shape, that will help your metabolism, and your internal organs’ metabolic stance will reflect better muscle health, too.

Insulin is a powerful fat-storing hormone and unless you demand the energy be used, by very active muscle metabolism and strong, efficient metabolic processes, you will store too much of any size or type of meal as fat tissue.

___   Dr. Julian Whitaker, MD, a very successful physician who very regularly is able to reverse diabetes (with a totally nutritional protocol along with some moderate exercise), says that there are certain nutritional herbal and mineral complexes which your body needs once it loses Balance.

He recommends using these, specifically in the doses he says, and working with a knowledgeable physician or traveling to see him in Southern California at the Whitaker Wellness Institute. Maybe your physician can work hand-in-hand with Dr. Whitaker, who I am sure wants to spread the word.

At some point in his protocol, Dr. Whitaker takes all Type 2 diabetics off their diabetic medications. The results, over time, have been wonderful returns to Health.

He, like Dr. Gabriel Cousens, MD, largely or wholly reverse diabetes with a mostly plant-based diet.

Some of the herbs and mineral complexes which Dr. Whitaker prescribes aid muscle metabolism and cleanse your liver (your main detox organ – which needs to work over-time if you are on lots of medications).

About half of all diabetics secretly suffer from a life-threatening condition called Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), which is killing far more people than alcoholic cirrhosis or hepatitis. Your liver can regenerate, but you have to give it the correct support.

You can learn more about these topics and resources on his website Dr. Julian Whitaker, MD.

___   Other new research investigates whether aerobic or anaerobic exercise is more helpful for diabetics. The bottom line is that a combination of each works out better.

___   And, a new study conducted at McMaster University has shown that a similar degree of muscle building can be achieved by using lighter weights, rather than the heavy ones usually touted by trainers. The secret is to pump iron until you reach muscle fatigue, and then no further.

Stuart Phillips, an associate professor of kinesiology at McMaster University said,  “We’re convinced that growing muscle means stimulating your muscle to make new muscle proteins, a process in the body that over time accumulates into bigger muscles.”

Nicholas Burd, a PhD candidate, masterminded the project which showed it’s really not the weight you lift but the fact that you get muscular fatigue that’s the critical point in building muscle.

The study used what seem to be very light weights that represented only 30%  of what the subjects could lift.

For comparison, the heavier weights were set to 90% of a person’s best lift.

“It’s a very light weight,” says Phillips noting that the 90-80% range is usually something people can only lift from 5-10 times before fatigue sets in. But, at 30%, Burd reported the subjects could lift that weight at least 24 times before they felt fatigue.

So, as many diabetics are already in poor-shape, their muscle-messages should improve with using just light weights and stopping when the first muscle fatigue happens. Try again the next day, and the muscle will have been working on itself for repair and to get stronger. Gentle walking could accomplish this for your legs, rather than considering running or even wind-sprints (which you could graduate to, when you body tells you it is in better shape).

___   Lifting weights is especially good for teens who are pre-diabetic, a USC study shows.

Previous research had demonstrated that aerobic and resistance exercise is effective in improving insulin sensitivity in adults, but until now, no controlled studies of resistance exercise had been done on overweight youth.

Research was led by Michael Goran, PhD, professor of preventive medicine in the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California, and it showed that overweight Latino teenage boys who lifted weights only twice per week (for 16 weeks) significantly reduced their insulin resistance. The findings were published in the July 2010 issue of “Medicine and Science of Sports Exercise”.

Insulin resistance means that the energy you processed from food cannot get into your cells, so you are getting fat.  This is a condition in which your body doesn’t respond to insulin and can’t process sugars properly. Insulin resistance is very common in obese children and it is a precursor of Type 2 diabetes. If the body is continually overtaxed by simple carbohydrate abuse, then Type 1 diabetes can also be triggered, when your pancreas becomes completely exhausted.

___   Your muscles need to be used and the lactic acid by-products they make will be more actively removed when your body is in better shape, working towards a healthy Balance. If you eat alkaline foods, they will help to counteract the acid that your metabolism produces as by-products.

___   When your body is too acid, your B.I.M. is pain! Acids inflame your cellular tissues, so the chances are, if you have pain, you need to alkalinize.

And, if the pain persists, of course get your physician to track down why. But, alkalinization for severely acidic bodies can take a long time to turn-around. That means you should start!

I’ve talked about strategies to do this many times, so look for articles in my Titles Archive on the upper navigation bar.

OK, that’s a start to get you going on what the messages from a few more B.I.M.s can mean! Read the first 3 parts of the series, too.

Until next week — Em
